House Design

Recently refurbished and upgraded, Kaiakea is a 4,200-square-foot four-bedroom/four-bath cedar house with a warm visual ambiance enhanced by the calming sound of the ocean, only 30 feet away. A suspended central stairway and two-story ceilings create a sense of open space while ceiling fans and thoughtful placement of windows and sliders provide light and breezes. The second-floor sleeping loft has overflow pu,ne’es and beds for all the kids and grandkids at the same time adding to the spacious feel. Old Hawaii permeates the environment of Kaiakea.

Subtle layers of seclusion and security start with the street-side rock wall and garden, separate garages, and a double-door entry to the courtyard area. Arbors cast shade on the walkways and lanai, and flowering hedges create privacy. Landscaping includes colorful croton, hanging orchids, palms and banana plants.
