Plumeria Cottage offers a vacation of ease indoors and out. Compact yet perfectly proportioned in the vintage beach style, it is a delightful combination of convenience and charm. And, with a roomy, sunny lanai and large shaded grassy yard, it becomes quite spacious. An outdoor-shower room with laundry and plenty of room for beach items and for drying wet towels and bathing suits keeps the indoors comfortable and relaxed. The nearby shoreline access is a short walk away. The bedroom has a small AC unit.

There is another home on the property occupied by our long-term tenant & his dog. He will be very respectful of your privacy & quiet enjoyment of the home during your stay.

  Cottage was even better than pictures - beautifully decorated, super-clean, well stocked (plentiful beach and snorkel gear and even a coffee grinder). Convenient location. We walked 5 minutes to snorkel at one of the best spots on the Big Island. You will enjoy the outdoor shower! AC in the bedroom makes sleeping very comfortable. Cottage gets warm in the afternoon, but we were outside at that time most days. The large lanai is perfect for morning coffee and grilling dinner. Mary was very helpful. Quickly responded to a minor issue. Cottage is a great value for a couple. We will be back.

  Our family had such a great time on Big Island! The property was in a prime location, very close to the best beach on the island. We really enjoyed the lanai and the outdoors shower.

  Wow! What a perfect place to stay for two people. The location is on the Kohala coast and is ideal - close, easy access to multiple beaches with great snorkeling, sand, and beautiful sunsets. The cottage itself is extremely clean, comfortable, and well stocked with everything you need and more - outdoor shower and bbq were great! In fact, there wasn't one thing that was lacking, and quite the opposite, supplies were bountiful, which is rare with a rental. The location on a quiet street was close to some nice resort communities including Mauna Lai (5 min. down the highway) - golf, food store, a few shops, black sand beach, and the excellent restaurant "Canoe House." I would definitely recommend this rental for anyone who wants a quiet and private place to chill and to launch from to have tropical fun. One caveat that has been mentioned in other previous reviews, the cottage can get very warm from 2 - 5 PM (after 5 is very pleasant). There are fans which help, but the bedroom is air conditioned (we called it "the cooler") allowing for "escape" if, for some reason, you're not out and about during that time frame. The property management (Mary) made sure to check in a couple of times to see if we were happy - thanks Mary. Final words - a great place to stay with great value!

  Fantastic experience! From arrival to leaving the staff of 2papayas was available and responsive. The cottage itself was well equipped, well maintained and very comfortable. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood it is across the street from the ocean with multiple access points.
  A short drive brings you to two major resort areas and shopping as well as historical and cultural sites. Be sure to take in Kona Kozy's magic and comedy show in nearby Queens Marketplace. Recommend highly, we will be back!

  A great experience in a fantastic location. Very well equipped kitchen, super comfortable bed, a very large lanai and best of all an outdoor shower. Bedroom AC very necessary.   The rental home was impeccably kept. Very clean. The kitchen was well stocked with every appliance, utensil and basic oils and spices. The outdoor shower was great, and the beach toys and chairs in are good shape. Water access very hand, and there was a peek at the sea through the yard. Only downside was the breeze from the sea was somewhat blocked b vegetation and houses across the road. In spit of that this home was a lovely place to hang ou.

  Staying at the Plumeria Cottage was great! It's a lovely one-bedroom cottage with an air-conditioned bedroom. It's in excellent condition, with lots of nice touches all around, and the bed is super comfortable, with actual linen sheets. The outdoor shower was awesome. We never bathed indoors! When we stayed, there was a bin of snorkel masks and fins, as well as beach chairs, umbrellas and such. It's a very short walk to a beach access, and if you go to the last public beach access, and head to the south, you'll see the "keyhole" in the lava just across from an information sign about the reef. That's the spot to get in for great snorkeling. We thought it was just as good as the Captain Cook monument, and WAY WAY fewer people. The south end of Beach 69 is also a great spot for snorkeling. Our best meal was the Black Bean Seafood Combo and the Steamed Fish Special at the Seafood Bar and Grill in Kawaiihai, and our best experience was the night snorkel, which we arranged with Blue Wilderness, which at the little store halfway down Puako Beach Road. We can't wait to come back to the Plumeria Cottage!

  I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Plumeria Cottage! I highly recommend for anyone looking for a laid back beach town experience away from all the hustle and bustle and mega resorts. Puako is a very special place with a unique experience and I was so grateful to have the time there. The ocean is right across the street, I was there every night for sunset. The house is very comfortable with everything you need and a large lanai and yard to relax. The Puako General store is close for any essentials and Waikoloa is just a short drive for groceries and restaurants. I explored the beautiful beaches that are all within 5-10 minutes as well as going to the north side of the island for hiking. I would definitely recommend this place and 2 Papayas was amazing as well! Mahalo ��

  We've stayed in Plumeria Cottage three times now so yeah - we LOVE it. It is perfect for a couple who want to spend some romantic time together. The beach is a two minute walk away, the perfect place to watch the sunset. The house is impeccably clean with every utensil you could ever need to cook a gourmet meal. If you don't feel like cooking - you are a quick drive to many wonderful restaurants. This is truly the perfect cottage in the perfect spot - we are already planning our 4th visit.
